Feeding Therapy

Mealtimes can be stressful for families when feeding is challenging. We help babies and children with difficulties such as restrictive diets, sensory-based feeding challenges, or oral-motor delays. If your child has trouble trying new foods, eats a limited range, or finds eating uncomfortable, we’re here to help.

Our feeding therapy focuses on making mealtimes easier, safer, and more enjoyable – supporting healthy eating habits in a relaxed, family-centred way.

Feeding Therapy

Literacy Therapy

Is your child finding reading or writing tricky? Our literacy therapy builds strong foundations in phonological awareness, decoding, comprehension, and spelling. We use evidence-based strategies to support your child to become a confident reader and writer, whether they’re just starting school or already on their learning journey.

At Simplify Speech, our Speech Pathologists have completed further professional development in evidence-based programs including:

  • Sounds-Write – a structured synthetic phonics program supporting accurate reading and spelling
  • Learnersaurus – tools and strategies to boost literacy confidence using a multi-sensory approach

We tailor literacy support to suit your child’s strengths and challenges, making learning engaging, achievable, and effective.

Group Therapy

Our group therapy sessions offer children the chance to build their communication, social, and learning skills in a fun, interactive, and supportive environment. Working alongside peers can be incredibly powerful – it helps children feel less alone in their challenges, while also learning to communicate, play, and engage with others.

We offer group programs across a range of developmental areas, including:

  • Speech and language development
  • Early and school-age literacy skills
  • Feeding and mealtime skills
  • Social communication and play

Group therapy is led by experienced Speech Pathologists and may also involve allied health assistants where appropriate. Group sizes are kept small to ensure individualised attention within a social learning setting.

We also offer seasonal and school holiday programs – contact us to find out what’s coming up!

Parent Groups

We believe that parents are powerful partners in their child’s development. That’s why we offer supportive, evidence-based parent groups designed to educate, connect, and empower families. These sessions are not only informative, but also provide a safe and welcoming space to share experiences and learn alongside others walking a similar path.

Our current parent groups include:

  • More Than Words Program: A world-renowned program designed for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder or social communication difficulties
  • Feeding Education Groups: Understand why your child may be avoiding certain foods, how to support variety and mealtime success, and how to manage mealtime stress with calm, confidence, and realistic expectations
  • Prep Readiness Parent Education Sessions: Designed for families of children starting school, these sessions focus on the key communication, literacy, social, and self-help skills that support a smooth and confident transition to Prep

Parent groups can be delivered in person or online, and are suitable for families at various stages — whether you’re looking to better understand your child’s needs, or want to build on what you’re already doing at home.

Assessment

Comprehensive, family-centred, strength-based assessments are a core part of our service. We offer thorough assessments to understand your child's current abilities and plan for their next steps. We also offer AAC evaluations to determine the most appropriate communication systems and supports.

Assessments can be completed for a variety of purposes, including:

  • NDIS reporting – Functional assessments and reports to support funding applications, plan reviews, and ongoing supports
  • School or inclusion support – Reports to assist with classroom adjustments or applications for additional learning support
  • Therapy planning – Guiding the development of personalised, meaningful therapy goals
  • Collaborative care – Helping other allied health professionals (such as OTs, psychologists, or support workers) better understand your child’s communication, literacy, or feeding profile
  • Family understanding – Empowering parents with insights into their child’s strengths, challenges, and how best to support them at home
  • Child insight and self-awareness – Supporting children in understanding their own communication or learning profile in a positive, strengths-based way

We're here to ensure families feel informed and empowered every step of the way.

Education & Screening Services

We offer customised education and training sessions for schools, daycares, kindergartens, and other community services. These sessions are ideal for educators, support staff, and leadership teams looking to build knowledge in child development, communication, feeding, play, or other relevant areas.

Our education sessions are:

  • Tailored to your setting and team needs
  • Suitable for staff professional development days or targeted workshops
  • Available in-person or via telehealth
  • Designed to be practical, evidence-based, and immediately applicable

We also provide screening assessments for children within your service. These help identify those who may benefit from further speech, language, literacy, or feeding support. Each child receives a brief screening report that can be shared with families and used to guide next steps.

This service is perfect for early identification and early intervention – helping children get the support they need as early as possible.
