Jess Inness, BSpPath(Hons)
Meet Jess Inness – Moblie Speech Pathologist
Jess is the heart of Simplify Speech—bubbly, energetic, and passionate about helping children find their voice. With experience in education, early intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Indigenous health, and private practice in Brisbane, she brings a well-rounded skill set to her work.
Jess is skilled in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), supporting non-verbal children, feeding, literacy, multidisciplinary collaboration, and culturally responsive care. She tailors therapy to each child’s needs, creating fun, engaging, and strengths-based sessions. Her warmth and enthusiasm help build strong, supportive connections with families.
Outside the clinic, Jess enjoys chasing her daughter around the park and she is a strong believer that Christmas celebrations should start in November.

Michaela Toohey, BSpPath(Hons)
Meet Michaela Toohey – Mobile Speech Pathologist
Michaela comes with experience working with a diverse range of paediatric caseloads, including early intervention, neurodiverse communication, low and high tech forms of AAC, literacy, feeding and orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMD). As a neurodivergent learner herself, Michaela is extremely passionate about neurodiversity affirming practices and advocating for equal opportunities and access to communication.
Since graduating from Central Queensland University, Michaela has worked within multidisciplinary teams, within education settings, homes and via telehealth. She strives to make therapy accessible and functional for clients and their families.
Outside the clinic, Michaela is a nail technician and enjoys many forms of artistic expression, including illustration for children's books.
